Childless man gets scam calls from 'grandson' for 7 years straight, shares hilarious ways he messes with the scammer: 'I’ve started extending the conversation to save the next person some grief'

Scam calls are nothing new, but in recent years, scammers have been getting more creative with their tactics... and creepier. One scam that's been on the rise involves someone pretending to be a family member in trouble, often a child or grandchild, needing urgent financial help. With AI now able to mimic voices, it's become even more unsettling. But for this childless man, who's been receiving the same scam call twice a year for the past seven years, it's less of a scare and more of a chance to have some fun. Instead of hanging up or falling for the trick, this guy turns the tables on the scammer, prolonging the conversation just to waste their time. Over the years, he's shared some hilarious stories about how he's messed with these fake grandsons, using their own tactics against them.     I got one of those calls. "Grandpa?" Who is this "Don't you recognize my voice?" Is it you Ralph. ( I don't have a grandson Ralph) "Yes, it's me and I'm in jail ... Can you send bail to.... Me... Rot in jail you idiot

    My mother gets these calls regularly. She puts them on speaker and just starts speaking in mangled english/spanish, complaining that they're not married, why are they wasting their lives when they could be married, where are my great-grandkids, etc. Like she used to do to me. Really she found someone willing to listen, which for her is like free therapy.

    You should agree to send him money. Get all his information, as much as you can, and then report him. He's certainly trying this on others throughout the year, and probably succeeding in some cases. You can shut it. down.
